yumm cake

what an exciting day! i ordered jaxon's birthday outfit and just pulled a hot, buttermilk cake out of the oven. i'm making another tester cake for his party so i can get more practice with fondant. i've never used fondant before but really want to try it. i love the smoothed polished look it gives and with marshmallow fondant it's not as bitter as most. and surprisingly it's pretty easy to work with. the colors are so much more rich and vibrant. so i'm excited to decorate my cake tomorrow.

everyone keeps asking me what i'm doing for his party, as far as theme goes. well i don't share my ideas, sorry. there were soooo many babies born the same time that he was and so many have told me they don't have any idea what they're doing for their party, yet ask me what i'm doing. to steal my idea? maybe. people should know that i always keep plans a secret. just like keeping baby names a secret. i spend a lot of time planning, searching and trying to find the best and most creative things and i don't want others to steal or copy those ideas. but i will say it's totally cute! and no it's not one of those cookie cutter themes that you just walk into party city and pick everything out off the shelves that's already pre made & grouped together. i just think that's sooooo tacky!! create something fresh, new and fun. i can't wait to put all of this together. it's going to be so much fun :) so stay tuned, 1 month and 14 days
