i am SO proud. it took me all afternoon but i finally just completed my very first fondant cake! it really wasn't as hard as i thought it would be. the hardest part is rolling it out making sure it's big enough to cover the cake and picking it up without it tearing. it sorta takes 2 extra hands to do that since i'm just starting. but once you get the hang of it and actually get your hands slick with enough crisco so it doesn't stick then it flows pretty smooth. i'm so excited to know i can do this. my mawmaw will be so proud to know i stepped it up to the next level. now i don't know if i'll make a fondant cake every time i bake but i will for jaxon's birthday party next month.
LOOK AT YOU! the next cake boss ;D you did a fantastic job! im terrified of fondant :/ plus...i really don't care for the way it tastes. HOWEVER...i've heard there are some fondant recipes that taste great. anyways...i wanted to check out ur blog again! i seriously love it! the orange n zebra EKK!! :) if you need any more goodiez or whatever...just let me know. have a great wkd<3
ReplyDeletethankies :) it really wasn't that hard seriously!! i've heard a lot say it was nasty too but i made this out of marshmallows, powdered sugar & vanilla flavoring instead of water. it's got a tiny bit of taste but not a lot. i put a little layer of buttercream under it so i taste that more than the fondant. and if you eat it alone it pretty much melts in your mouth. it's so easy to cut too. cake and icing aren't falling off everywhere. you should try one time. you're just as crafty if not MORE!
