Let me first start off by saying thank you from the both of us. Apparently a few from the peanut gallery have been waiting on this longer than me ;) So first thing people always say is let me see the ring, the next is how did he do it and when's the wedding. So...
Yesterday in itself was a pretty awesome day. Houston was 14 months old and took his first steps. I became a Mary Kay girl and then got engaged to my best friend of 16 years. Yep it was a good day! I left with my future MIL to go to a seminar and just learn more about Mary Kay and answer any questions I may have. Let me tell you, those women were FUN!!! They sang, danced, were so friendly. It was so funny because they asked how Sherri and I knew each other and we said "future DIL if her son would ever get off his butt and give me the ring" Completely not knowing anything that was planned!!! Or at least I didn't anyway. After the party was over Sherri said we had to go meet a friend of hers to get another MK bag, ok whatever I thought nothing of it. We pulled into Ballantyne Hotel and I even made the comment about the gorgeous fountain. We parked and she said "well let's get out and go wait over here, I hope a bellhop doesn't run us off" I again, unknowingly said "We'll just tell him we came from a MK class and are taking selfies by the fountain" and being the mom that I am walking through a dark parking lot I turned around and scanned behind us then turned and looked again and see Chase walking across the parking lot. I had to do a double take because I thought no he's at home what the heck would he be doing here. Then when I saw him, I knew. His momma tried to act all surprised "well hey what are you doing here" I laughed and told her she didn't lie too well. We go over by the fountain and he is shaking, sweating and smiling bigger than a Cheshire cat! When he pulls out the box there was mine and Ainsley's ring. I give him props though he didn't stutter, pass out, drop the ring or throw up. Although he almost threw up when we got home because his nerves were so shot haha.
We were going to go out and celebrate but being life with 4 kids and no sitters available, it was late, they were hungry and tired so we're going to celebrate together later; which is also a surprise. I don't know where but he's also got that planned out already too. He had originally planned to do it next month at mustang week but instead of going to NMB we were going to Charleston mid week as a surprise (because I've been dying to go there) But it was burning a hole in his pocket (he's had it for several months) As for a date, right now there isn't one but we're almost certain it will be on a beach somewhere. We've waited 15 years. What's 15 more?
