i know the time is coming when there's going to be a debating about me having Asinley in pageants & ear piercing so i'm going to nip it right now bc i won't defend my point again, i'll just put you in your place about it and move on. i will be getting Ainsley's ears pierced as soon as possible. i'm only waiting until she's 6 months old bc i want the dr's office to do them so i know they'll be done right and clean. i don't care if anyone doesn't like it. it's not your place to decide or comment on. i had mine done when i was 3, i remember it and they did a crappy job. getting it done now she won't remember it and it'll be done right. if you want to say it's terrible, mutilation, mean, cruel whatever then let's discuss circumcision. again, not your child, not your decision. and yeah there's those that say it's their body let them decide when they get older, AGAIN not your child. there will be no discussion on your opinion of it with my child. matt & i have already discussed and agreed on it.
now for pageants... let me start off with what you see on tv is not even how it really is. that's tv! yes there are some of "those moms" out there but what's any different from those moms than the dads that are yelling and screaming at their sons to hit, catch or run the ball? fussing at them bc they didn't make the play right, nothing! so don't harp on me about a pageant. arguing about the hair & makeup is an invalid point as well. dance & cheer competitions require the same thing, over the top make stage make up and hair pieces. there are also different types of pageants. natural, semi glitz and full glitz. natural is exactly what it sounds like; no fake hair, tans, flippers (teeth), only natural looking make up allowed and sunday type dresses. semi glitz they can have some sparkles on the dress or cupcake style, make up, hair pieces and some systems may allow flippers. now full glitz is what they show on tv with the tans, flippers, big hair, cupcake dresses with lots and lots of stones and sparkles, big routines with many outfits. whichever style i choose to put her in is my choice. right now she's too small for anything other than natural and personally i don't like high glitz until they are older. those require a lot of time and money and when they're 3 & 4 and still have their off days that's just not something i want to dump a lot of money into for her to blow it that day. this is just MY personal opinion and i have nothing against anyone else who does glitz with their child at that age. age isn't always a factor, it's their maturity level that really plays a major factor into it just like any other sport or activity.
so by now i'm pretty sure you're confused with the terms flipper, cupcakes, wiglets so let me give you some visuals.
this is Taralyn Eschberger, she has been seen a few times on "Toddlers & Tiaras" and does high glitz pageants. one photo has been lightly touched up while the other is a completely glitz out photo with "topper", added lashes and make up, hair and facial smoothing.
this is a 100% fully glitz photo
a high glitz cupcake dress with the stones and sparkles and actually a pretty good price for something like this. you can't just go to the store and buy this, these are custom made.
now that you have some insight on pageants (bc this doesn't even cover it all but i don't have that much time to explain it all) i don't care what your opinion is on pageants. it's not your money or your child. you have opinions on it just like i do but i don't care what yours are. i hate the comments anytime a pageant is mentioned about being a "crazy pageant mom" really... just shut up, like i made reference before this isn't any different than the dad that goes crazy bc his son just missed a winning pass. but i'm not going to defend or make anymore arguments or points about it bc i'm not going to defend what i choose to do with my kids.
