decisions decisions!

oh my goodness, so Miss Huck's fabric samples for her room came in today and now i can't decide which i like better!! we had made our minds up on one girl set and one boy set before we knew what we were having. then after we found out it was a girl the choice was simple. yeah not so much haha. matt wanted to "look some more" since he's never got to look at girl bedding knowing he gets to use it. so then we found another set we loved and had almost completely decided to the point of ordering before we even got the samples but now that the samples are here i really can't decide!! so now i'm sitting here looking at the fabrics and surfing the internet trying to find different ideas to go in her room. since this is our last we wanted to do something completely different boy or girl! we didn't want the typical animals or everything matchy matchy like ordering the valance, the diaper stacker, the lamp, the this, the that. i wanted to piece the room together and only order the bedding set to make it more personal and i think with these 2 rooms we could do that very easily.

this helps with looking at the fabric against the furniture color.
i love the way the purple looks very classy against the cherry furniture.
i love the boldness of the pinks, greens & hint of orange with the furniture as well.
but then i love how neither one of them are overflowing with pink, pastels or worse... butterflies!

now for paint with this room i really wanted to do one wall in a purple and then the other 2 walls either a light green or yellow. then instead of buying a mobile this time i wanted to use various shades of purple paper poms in the corner of the room over the crib to add height and dimensions & just to have something different.

how pretty would these be hanging from the ceiling in these different colors starting with dark purple and flowing down to white. so whimsical and soft.

instead of a white sheer i thought possibly doing a purple like this with the glitter dots maybe? if i paint the accent wall a lighter purple and then the other 3 walls light green (not a sage but in the lime family that matches  the bedding) or maybe a pale yellow these would pop off the wall as well. idk i still may consider white to add the whimsical feel to the room.

now this room... there are just so many colors to pull from and designs! it's not over kill on the pink (thank goodness!!) and the thoughts of using black & white polka dots to spice it up is just too cute. plus gerber daisies are one of my favorite flowers.

the black accessories such as this amazing chandelier! omg how gorgeous is that?!!

these are the same style as the purple just in lime. idk there's something about the lime in both sets i just love!! i don't that i'd use these in this set or not i'd just have to see the paint in the room first bc i really want the drapes to 'pop' off the wall but yet still blend nicely.

i pulled this room off pinterest simply just for the paint scheme! the accent wall is pink and the other 3 walls look silver. that's my idea for this set as well. and you can also add silver or gold glitter to your paints at lowes and i would add the silver to the grey paint. i think instead of it looking so 'busy' it would actually classy it up.

now comes the hard part... which one do i choose?! the purple seems very soft, very girly, light and calming yet i just love the colors in the pink set. there's so many more options to pull from without making it too busy. i could just see so many possibilities with this room. and we've always wanted a little girl to be able to do pink in her room, just not pepto pink! so i feel like by going with the purple we're not getting that true girly feel that we've always wanted & i know that i've dreamed of without having the pepto pink, lace and ruffles. oh gosh how am i every going to decide?! i think i need a trip to hobby lobby, kirklands, lowes and kohls to help make this decision easier haha.

  1. You already know which one I like lol I don't think the purple scheme would be pulled off as nice with dark furniture.
I'm loving the silver walls w/the pink accent wall! GORGEOUS!!

  2. haha i know. see i'm going back and forth SO freakin bad on this. i look at those purple poms and they're so pretty with the gradient colors but then i feel like i'm only limited to purple, green, white and maybe yellow. but the other there is just SO much although i'd play up the polka dots, silver/ grey and pink more than anything but i like having the other colors in there bc if it were just pink, black and white i don't think i'd like it as much for some reason. like it would be too plain. i need other colors to add splashes of color to it too.
