birthdays

oh my goodness! i can't believe it, jaxon's almost 2!! it seems like this year has just flew by too. i think about all of the great, exciting things we've got going on over the next several months. tomorrow is mawmaw miller's 82nd birthday and we're making a big fuss over. i'm fixing her my cheese stuffed pasta, making a chocolate eclair, getting some balloons, putting her a candle on her "cake", party hats. i just feel like with all the family drama going on lately and with her being so sick we really need to make this birthday very special for her considering it could be her last. we hope not! jaxon & daddy's 2nd/ 52nd birthday is coming up in less than 2 weeks. i've got some planning ideas but nothing massive and elaborate like last year. i just haven't had the time. i asked matt the other day if it was horrible of me to make cupcakes this year instead of some big huge cake. he said he liked that idea better especially now since jaxon wants to feed himself. i'll still make them from mawmaw's recipe, no store bought. i just can't do that or order from the sweet shop. yuck! 

jaxon's favorite thing is spongebob. he loves spongebob! i think i've seen almost every episode. so that's the 'theme' this year, hope pawpaw doesn't mind haha. but of course i can't have everything spongebob. i think i'd go crazy. a few shaped balloons of spongebob & patrick, maybe some plates or napkins and the cupcake tower but other than that, solid colors! his shirt this year was made by rebekah crisco and it's oh so cute. i love turtles after reading 'the last song' and turtles are underwater, like spongebob. it's so precious. 

here's the cupcake tower. yeah it seems really simple and maybe even cheesy but since i stopped making cakes i just don't have the equipment anymore to make elaborate cakes and sadly, nor do i even have the desire to make a cake like i used to. i might change my mind later and decide to make a small cake of some sort but nothing like i used to. i do have a pretty cute cake stand that i haven't really got to use much ;) all i need is to change the ribbon out and wah-la. humm... that might just be a thought since branson told me i HAD to make their cakes, i couldn't get out of it haha. 

i just now that i'm so excited for the next few months. august has 3 birthdays, my sister angie finds out what she's having the 29th, sept we've got our vacation (finally!) and fall is only 39 days away. october brings halloween (which i love) and trips to the pumpkin patch, the Christmas show in concord, nov has thanksgiving and branson's FIFTH birthday -gasp!!- there's only 131 days left til Christmas. crazy how fast this year has gone and how much faster the rest will go with all these exciting things going on. somewhere in the middle of all of that we're getting the boys new furniture and redecorating their room and putting them in a room together. they practically do everything in the same room together now except sleep and since jaxon is in a big boy bed now, why not. for once it feels like things are falling into place and we are finally at peace and everything around us is quiet & peaceful as well. now just as long as it stays that way!
